Lions' men's golf finishes sixth at Rose-Hulman Invitational

The Lions finished up their second round of golf at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Invitational on Sunday, en route to a sixth place finish. The Lions shot 313 on Satuday, and finished today with a 305, for a total of 618. The tournament champion was Transylvania University (594), followed by Franklin College (600), and Hanover College (611). The individual champion was Griffen Brown of Franklin College, who shot a two-over par 146, and won in a playoff.

Leading the way for the Lions was Danny Gravett (Cincinnati, OH/SCPA). Gravett posted a 76-73--149, which was good enough to earn him a tie for sixth place. Matt Stiens (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) was second for the Lions. Stiens followed Satuday's 77 with a 79 today, good for a a 156, and a tie for 22nd place. Connor McGary (Lexington, KY/Lexington Catholic) posted a 76-78--154, places in a tie for 19th place as an individual. 

The Lions return to action next week with two tournaments, both Saturday and Sunday. Some of the team will travel to Wooster, Ohio to play in the Nye Intercollegiate Invitational, with another group going to compete in the Defiance College Invitational in Defiance, Ohio.
