The College of Mount St. Joseph men's golf team traveled to the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational this weekend, and placed tenth out of 26 schools. Host IWU was first in the team standings, winning on a tie-breaker over Wheaton College, with both teams finishing with 611 strokes over the 36-hole tournament. The Mount shot a 633 team score.
The Lions, who have the other half of their squad at the April 6-7 Hanover College Invitational, return their full team to the links on April 13-14 at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Invitational.
Danny Gravett (Cincinnati, OH/SCPA) led the Mount at IWU, tying for 15th place individually with a 74-80--154. Teammate Matt Stiens (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) tied for 34th place, with a 76-82--158. There were 131 golfers at the two-day event.
