Mount men's golf team kicks off spring play at the TaylorMade adidas Intercollegiate

The Mount finished up their first tournament of the spring season on Tuesday afternoon, placing fifth among 13 teams at the TaylorMade adidas Intercolleigate held in Dataw Island, SC. The Lions had a three-round total score of 964, with Faulkner University leading the way in the team standings with a 919. Thirteen golfers from the Mount compete in the tournament.

Tyler Overberg (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) led the Mount individually, finishing 17th overall with a score of 238. Teammate Eric Hensler (Farifield, OH/Fairfield) tied for 18th place, with a 240 while Conor McGarry (Lexington, KY/Lexington Catholic) tied for 22nd place with a 241. Matt Stiens (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle), 246 and Tom Witterstaetter (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills), 258, rounded out the scores of the five Mount golfers which produced the team score. Danny Gravett (Cincinnati, OH/SCPA) shot a 245.

The Lions are back in action on March 23-24 when they host the 36-hole College of Mount St. Joseph Invitational at Aston Oaks Golf Club in North Bend, OH.
