Mount men's golf team in action at two different locations this weekend
Sunday, October 07, 2012 The Lions' men's golf team was in action at two different locations this weekend, with the one-half the team at the Wabash Fall Golf Classic and the other half of the squad at the Wittenberg University Maurer Invitational. The Mount has now concluded fall season play. The Lions shot a two-round score of 613 at Wabash, to finish second at Wabash, eight strokes behind Hanover College. Stephen Beamer (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) led the way for the Mount, shooting a 73-70 (143) winning medalist honors, with the three-over par score. Teammate Conor McGarry (Lexington, KY/Lexington Catholic) was tied for seventh individually, shooting a 150. Five Mount golfers competed in the two-day event. The Mount had a two-round total of 625 at Wittenberg, shooting 313-312. Allegheny College and Ohio Wesleyan University were first in the team standings, each with a 595. Tom Witterstaetter (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) turned in the Mount's top individual placing, coming in seventh with a four-over par 148. Seven Mount golfers in all played in the two-day invite.
