Lions' men's golf team finishes second at the Manchester University Fall Invitational
Sunday, September 30, 2012 The College of Mount St. Joseph turned in a strong showing on Saturday at the Manchester University Fall Invite, finishing second out of 11 teams. The Lions, shot a 299-288 (587), to finish behind the Pioneers "A" team (569). The Mount is back in action on Oct. 6 and 7 when the team will be divided up to play in the Wabash College Invitational and Wittenberg University Invitational. Tyler Oerberg (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) and Eric Hensler (Fairfield, OH/Fairfield) turned in the top individual scores for the Mount, with both recording a two-round score of 145, tying them for seventh place. Devin Cain (North Canton, OH/Glen Oak) tied for 12th place individually, shooting a 147. The Lions had two, five-man teams compete, and three other individual golfers. Sixty-four golfers competed in the one day, 36-hole invitational. Hensler's second round score of 66 is a new school individual record for an 18-hole score, while the Lions' 18-hole total of 288 and 36-hole score of 587 also set team records.
