The Mount's men's golf team had their final invitational of the fall season over the weekend. The Lions finished in fifth place after shooting a 334 in round one and a 330 in round two. The Lions begin their spring season on March 12 with the TaylorMade Adidas Intercollegiate in South Carolina.
Senior Kenny Brosnan (Cincinnati, OH/LaSalle) and sophomore Tom Witterstaetter (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) were mirror images of each other over the weekend with both of them shooting 79 for round 1 and 82 for round 2. Both Brosnan and Witterstaetter tied for ninth place overall.
Two Lions had their best finishes of the season at the Wabash Invitational. Freshmen Stephen Beamer (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) and Drew Nichols (Chillicothe, OH/Unioto) both had their best overall placements of the fall season this weekend. Beamer tied for 15th overall shooting a career two-round low of 163. Nichols tied for 12th overall shooting a 162 thanks in part to dropping his first round score of 89 by 16 strokes in the second round to accomplish a career low round of 73.
The Lions averaged 318. 4 strokes per round this fall and the averages (per round) of each individual golfer was within seven strokes of each other.
