Men's cross country competes at the HCAC Championships

The College of Mount St. Joseph cross country team traveled to Defiance College to compete in the HCAC Championships on Saturday, November 2nd. The Lions brought eight athletes to the 8,000 meter race, where the team finished in tenth place. The HCAC champion was Manchester University, also home of the individual HCAC champion Curtis Nordmann.

Leading the way for the Lions was Senior Chris Klaine (North Bend, OH/Taylor) who finished in a time of 30:15.00, good enough for an 88th place finish. Following closely behind Klaine was Jon Mathis (Cincinnati, OH/Roger Bacon) in 99th place. Mathis finished the course in a time of 31:38.20. Senior Sean Wiwi (West Harrison, IN/Franklin County) was also competing in his final HCAC Championship meet. Wiwi completed the course in 39:.01.50.

The Lions will next compete in the Great Lake Regional. The regional will be hosted by Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 16th.
