Lions' cross country team races at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic

The College of Mount St. Joseph cross country team competed at the Jenna Strong Fall Classic in Wilmington, Ohio on Friday. The Lions finished in 34th place, with an average time of 31:57.65 over the eight kilometer course. The events winners were Mount Union, and Alex Cushman of Indianapolis University, who won in a time of 24:58.69.

Leading the way for the Lions was freshman Alex Griffin (Cleves, OH/Taylor), who was the lowest scorer for the Lions at 202. Griffin completed the 8,000 meter course in 30:37.87, with an average mile of 6:09.8. Following Griffin for the Lions was Chris Klaine (North Bend, OH/Taylor), who finished with 209 points. His average mile was 6:18.3, with a total time of 31:20.56. 

This event was the final tuneup before the Lions head to Defiance, Ohio to compete in the HCAC Championships.
