College of Mount St. Joseph frontcourt player Ken Kunkel (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) has been named as one of five HCAC players to the 2014 HCAC All-Tournament team.
In the Lions' two HCAC Tournament games last week, Kunkel averaged a team-best 15 points and seven rebounds per game. He connected on 11-of-22 shots from the field (50 percent), five-of-11 three-point attempts (46 percent) and was three-for-three from the free throw line. In addition, Kunkel five assists, three steals and a blocked shot as the Mount hosted and defeated Transylvania to open the tournament; and then lost at eventual HCAC Tournament champion Rose-Hulman.
Others on the HCAC All-Tournament team were: Ryan Hicks, Defiance; Tim Bass, Hanover; Kyle James, Hanover; and Jimmy Miller, Rose-Hulman. HCAC Tournament Most Valuable Player was Julian Strickland, Rose-Hulman.
