The Mount got good balanced scoring, and an efficient and productive inside and outside attack on Wednesday night, as they recorded an 84-67 win at Thomas More College. The Lions, 3-0 on the season, will be idle until Nov. 26 when they play at DePauw University.
The Lions raced out to a 15-point (39-24) lead at the intermission, out-shooting the Saints 47 to 35 percent from the field. The Mount hit six three-pointers in the first 20 miniutes of play, and had a 21-14 advantage on the boards. The 15-point halftime lead was the Mount's largest of the first half, as they held the lead the entire half. The Mount continued to push out the lead in the second half, and held a 26-point lead at one point in the game. The Lions were 13-of-19 shooting in the second half, and added 17-of-24 free throws en route to the win.
David Mann (Fairfield, OH/Cincinnati Christian) led the way offensively with 21 points, while adding six rebounds. Joel Scudder (Greendale, IN/South Dearborn) and Mark Allen (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest) also had double-figure point totals, scoring 14 and 11 points respectively. Allen also had eight rebounds.
