Lions' men's basketball team stays atop the HCAC standings with a 63-59 home victory over Anderson University
Saturday, December 08, 2012 David Mann (Fairfield, OH/Cincinnati Christian) hit a three-point shot with 2:37 to play to give the Mount a two-point lead, and the Lions connected on five-of-six free throws in the final two minutes of action, as they held off Anderson University, 63-59 on Saturday afternoon in the Harrington Center. The Lions sit atop the HCAC with Rose-Hulman, each holding 3-0 conference marks. The Mount, 4-2 overall, is back in action on Dec. 13 when they play at Wilmington College. Mann led all scorers with 22 points in the game, while teammate Jacob Daniels (Peebles, OH/Peebles) chipped in 14 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Andy Countryman (Peebles, OH/Peebles) chipped in 13 points and five assists. THe Mount converted 51 percent from the field, to the Ravens' 46 field goal shooting. Both teams made four, three-pointers in the game, while Anderson won the rebounding battle, 31-26. The Ravens made five-of-14 free throws, to the Lions' 11-of-13 from the charity stripe.
