Host Thomas More College jumped out to a five-point lead at the half, and connected on 55 percent shooting in the second half on Wednesday evening en route to a 75-56 win over the Lions. The Saints shot a blistering 57 percent from the field in the opening half, and the throughout as they took advantage of their strong inside scoring. Holding the Lions to 44 percent shooting in the opening half, and then turning up their defense in the final 20 minutes of action, the Mount shot just 32 percent as the Saints improved to 4-0 on the young season.

Ken Kunkel (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) led the Lions with 20 points and seven rebounds while David Mann (Fairfield, OH/Cincinnati, Christian) chipped in 10 points and four rebounds for the Mount. Kunkel was 10-of-11 from the free throw line. The Mount out-rebounded Thomas More, 28-25, but committed 17 turnovers to the Saints’ eight miscues.
