Tony Acito returns in 2011 for his third season with the Mount’s football coaching staff. He will coach the team’s defensive line. Acito graduated from the Mount in 1993 where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English.
Acito’s 20 years of coaching include Elder High School, Roger Bacon, Covington Catholic (KY), Hamilton Badin, and Moeller. During his high school tenure Coach Acito helped produce numerous first and second team all-league and all-state performers including the GCL Defensive Lineman of the Year four times. In addition he has gone to the Ohio and Kentucky state playoffs 12 times. Acito also coached in the 2001 East/West All-Star game.
Coach Acito helped the Mount to the 2009 HCAC Championship and NCAA Division III playoff berth. He has helped the defensive line produce four all-HCAC lineman the past two years.
Acito is employed by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. He and his wife, Jenny, live in Monfort Heights, with their two daughters Emily and Carly. The Acitos belong to the St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish.
