The College of Mount St. Joseph’s Shane Kelly (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin), who kicked three field goals, including the game-winner, to help the Lions to a 16-13 home win over Hanover Saturday, has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on special teams.
The sophomore kicker converted a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter to put the Lions on the board and then hit the first of two fourth quarter field goals from 44-yards out to knot the score at 13-13. The game-winning boot was a 32-yard effort with only 15 seconds left in the contest.
The Lions (1-1, 1-0 HCAC) will play host to Bluffton at 1:30 PM Saturday.
