The College of Mount St. Joseph scored 13 runs and pounded out 15 hits, both season-high marks, as they recorded a 13-5 home win on Tuesday night over HCAC-foe Earlham College. The win enables the Mount to snap a five-game losing streak. They improved to 5-13 overall, 1-5 in the conference, and will play a three-game HCAC series at Defiance College on April 5-6.

The Lions got a sacrifice fly RBI from Cole Wendeln (Florence, KY/Boone County), and an RBI single from teammate Derek Allen (New Alasace, IN/East Central), in the first inning, jumping out to a 2-0 lead. The Mount never trailed in the game, and led 6-0 after their at-bat in the third inning. Jonathan Roberts (Hebron, KY/Coner) chipped in a two-run single in the fourth inning to push the lead to 10-2. Zak Wagner (Cincinnati, OH/Roger Bacon) added his third RBI in the game, in the seventh inning to complete the scoring on the night.

Wagner led the offense with four hits while Roberts added three hits and three RBI. Kyle Vennemeier (Harrison, OH/Harrison) and Allen chipped in two hits each. Jacob Hoying (Russia, OH/Russia) evened his 2013 record at 1-1, going 5 1/3 innings. Chris Bruckman (Huber Heights, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) and Nathan Lambert (Lawrenceburg, IN/Lawrenceburg) combined to pitch 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
