Mount baseball team posts 1-1 mark in first two games in Florida

The Lions began 2013 Spring Break play on Sunday, posting an 8-1 win over Denison University but falling later in the day to Baldwin Wallace University, 10-3. The Mount, 2-4 overall on the season, was slated to resume action in Florida on March 11 with an afternoon game against the College of Wooster.

Jonathan Roberts (Heborn, KY/Conner) had four hits to lead the Mount's offense in the first game, while teammate Cole Wendeln (Florence, KY/Boone County) added two RBI. Brandon Polking (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) started on the mound for the Lions, picking up the win.

The Lions got two hits from Taylor Simpson and two runs scored from Matt Lakamp (North Bend, OH/Taylor) in the second game of the day on Sunday, as they fell to Baldwin Wallace, which improved to 6-0 on the season. Mitch Morgan (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest) and Chase Stevens (Harrison, OH/Harrison) pitched for the Lions.
